Summary
Prompt: Truth Serum
““Tell me that you didn’t do it, Deku,” Katsuki begged, his voice dry and harsh. He was fighting back tears, muscles tight from overusing his quirk, his whole body shaking from exhaustion – but he couldn’t look away, couldn’t falter for a second. He needed to know that Deku hadn’t done it.”
Author’s Note
Hey y'all, I actually wrote this one ahead because I was really excited for it lol.

She was dead on the floor, lying in a pool of her own blood. Katsuki’s mother was dead. Katsuki hadn’t been gone long, not even twenty minutes, just long enough to take a shower and paint concealer over the new bruises forming rapidly over his elbows and the back of his thighs. Deku was kneeling beside her, checking her pulse. His face was eerily calm when he looked up at Katsuki.
“She’s gone. I’m so sorry, Kacchan.”
“What – what happened?”
“I don’t know. I heard yelling, so I came straight over to see what was going on, and the door was open. She was just lying here, I couldn’t do anything.”
“You killed her,” Katsuki growled, wiping away his tears with the bottoms of his palms, covering them with his sleeves so his sweat wouldn’t sting his eyes. “What the fuck’s wrong with you, Deku? Why would you do something like that?”
“I didn’t!” Deku exclaimed, looking hurt. “Honestly, Kacchan, you know I wouldn’t do something like that. You know me.” And Katsuki did know Deku, that’s how he knew Deku had killed her.
Katsuki set the cup down in front of Deku, and tried to act like nothing out of the ordinary was going on. It had taken him so long to get here, and he couldn’t afford for Izuku to see through him. It had taken months to track down the woman who was rumored to have created an infallible truth serum, and he’d nearly emptied his bank account paying for it, but it would all be worth it for him to finally know the truth.
“I know you killed my mother,” he said casually once Deku had finished his coffee.
“What?”
“Tell me that you didn’t do it, Deku,” Katsuki begged, his voice dry and harsh. He was fighting back tears, muscles tight from overusing his quirk, his whole body shaking from exhaustion – but he couldn’t look away, couldn’t falter for a second. He needed to know that Deku hadn’t done it. “Tell me that you didn’t kill her.”
“I did it for you, Kacchan,” Deku said, his voice overflowing with emotion.
“I never asked you to do that. She was my mother.”
“She hurt you, Kacchan, and you never fought back. I couldn’t just let her hurt you. I couldn’t just do nothing as you kept coming to school with new bruises, not after I finally got my quirk,” Deku explained, tears falling from his face onto Katsuki’s and mixing with his own, as if the grief they shared was the same. As if Deku hadn’t killed his mother. “I love you.” At least Katsuki finally knew the truth now, not that he knew what he was going to do with it.
