Summary
Prompt: Killing in Self Defense
““What are you talking about?” Kirishima snapped, hardening rippling across his body.
“If I didn’t do something, he was going to kill all of us.”
“What are you talking about,” Kirishima repeated, but it wasn’t a question this time. It was a threat, because there was no way Kirishima was going to let Izuku just walk away after what he’d done to Katsuki. Shoto certainly wouldn’t if it wasn’t that he was in love with Izuku.”
Author’s Note
Hey y'all, I was a bit loose with the prompt today, but I like how it turned out. (:
Enjoy!

“Where is Bakugou?” Aizawa said, storming into the training arena.
“Midoriya killed him,” Kirishima growled, something murderous flashing in his eyes.
“You don’t understand,” Izuku said, his hands shaking carefully at his sides. “It – it wasn’t Kacchan anymore.”
“What are you talking about?” Kirishima snapped, hardening rippling across his body.
“If I didn’t do something, he was going to kill all of us.”
“What are you talking about,” Kirishima repeated, but it wasn’t a question this time. It was a threat, because there was no way Kirishima was going to let Izuku just walk away after what he’d done to Katsuki. Shoto certainly wouldn’t if it wasn’t that he was in love with Izuku.
“It was in self defense,” Izuku said, his eyes overflowing with practiced tears. “The League of Villains got to him.”
“No, they didn’t!” Kirishima yelled, his whole body tense with anger and pain. “He’s been practically attached to me since Kamino! He hasn’t betrayed us, he’s fucking traumatized!”
“Izuku’s right,” Shoto said, because he would always have Izuku’s back, even though he had no idea why Izuku had killed Katsuki. All he knew was that Izuku had been preparing for this conversation for days. “Katsuki asked me to join him, but I told him he sounded insane. I should have gotten help from an adult, but I didn’t think he really meant it. I’m sorry.”
“The training arena’s closed. Shower and go back to the dorms,” Aizawa said, crossing his arms stiffly as he went, no doubt leaving to go make one of the worst phone calls of his life. Izuku followed him out, mumbling something about needing to talk to All Might. That left Shoto alone with Kirishima.
“Why did you lie for him?” Kirishima asked, his eyes shining with unshed tears. “You know what he did.”
“I love him,” Shoto said simply, because that was all there was to it. He would lie for Izuku as many times as he needed, he would cover up countless crimes in the hope that one day Izuku would look at him like he’d used to look at Katsuki, even if that meant that one day, Izuku killed him, too.
Kirishima turned to go, but Shoto stopped him, grabbing him by the wrist with his right hand.
“Wait,” he said, and Kirishima did, looking back at him. Shoto memorized his expression, because he wanted to remember this perfectly. This was his first murder, after all. He smiled apologetically and pushed ice completely through Kirishima’s wrist before pulling it out forcefully. Kirishima fell to his knees, blood pouring over the floor as he gripped his wrist uselessly. Shoto felt almost bad about killing him. “I’m sorry, but it had to be done.”
“Why?”
“Kirishima,” Shoto began, deciding to ignore his question, because answering it would be a confession. “You shouldn’t have killed yourself over Katsuki. There are other men out there, and you’re young, you could have still found love. I hope someone finds you before you bleed out.” They wouldn’t, though. The training arena was already closed, no one would be coming back until morning, and there was no way Kirishima would last that long in this condition.
“Why?”
“My father taught me to never leave loose ends.”
