Hey y'all, still working on catching up on everything lol, but I'm optimistic about it!
I've been excited about this prompt since I saw it on the prompts list, so I really had fun writing this.
Enjoy!

Ochako’s entire life, she had heard a strange humming. When she’d first asked her parents what it was, they’d asked her what she was talking about, so she’d stopped asking. Eventually, she’d realized that the humming was something only she could hear. So she went about her life as if there wasn’t any humming at all.
When she was little, she used to hum along. It was a steady, incessant hum, unchanging in its tune or patterns. Ochako learned to stop humming along when she realized how the other kids looked at her when she did. It was almost like they were afraid of her, but Ochako couldn’t understand why. She wasn’t hurting anyone, all she was doing was humming.
U.A. was supposed to be her fresh start. There were enough students there that the sounds of their breathing and chattering almost drowned out the humming, and Ochako knew better than to hum along now. The only problem was that the longer she spent there, the louder the hum grew, as if it was trying to be heard over all the chaos around her. Ochako just did her best to ignore it, even as her veins buzzed along with it.
At first, Ochako thought no one else noticed. She ate lunch with her friends every day, talking and laughing with them as if she was just like them. She started going out with Izuku, she was doing well in her classes, she was getting used to life in the dorms, and she could almost pretend that she was like them.
But then she noticed Hanta Sero, a friend of Izuku’s friend, watching her. There was something unsettling about the way he looked at her, like he knew something she didn’t. He looked almost amused, whispering to his friends about her. The humming was louder than ever when he was around, and Ochako almost wondered if he could hear it, too.
“There’s a beehive in your chest,” he told her, his voice barely anything more than a breath. Ochako’s heart stopped at his words, her entire body going cold.
“What?”
“There’s a beehive in your chest,’ he said again, still quiet, but just as casual as before, as if this was a normal way to start a conversation. Ochako didn’t ask what he was talking about, she already knew. There was a beehive in her chest. There always had been.
