Summary

Prompt: Helpless

“Katsuki didn’t know what to believe. All he could do was hope that Shigaraki was lying and try to find a way to escape so he could see for himself. Katsuki knew they’d stopped looking for him, that Toga had been living his life in his place. Tied down like this, weak, dehydrated, and malnourished – Katsuki was helpless.”

Author’s Note

Hey y'all, I'm doing Febuwhump this year! Yay!
Enjoy!

Katsuki flexed against the chains, testing their strength even though he knew he wasn’t ever getting out of here. His body was weak from being tied down for he didn’t even know how long anymore, he wasn’t sure he could escape even if they untied him, but he’d try. He didn’t know how far he could drag himself if his legs couldn’t hold his weight, but if he could just get out of this bar, maybe someone would call one of the pro heroes for him.

Shigaraki had told him there wasn’t even a U.A. anymore, that it had been shut down after everyone had pulled their kids out when the media had caught wind of his kidnapping. Apparently All Might had fallen, too, using the last of his strength trying to save Katsuki. Apparently Best Jeanist, the only person who had ever actually listened to Katsuki, had died trying to save him.

Katsuki didn’t know what to believe. All he could do was hope that Shigaraki was lying and try to find a way to escape so he could see for himself. Katsuki knew they’d stopped looking for him, that Toga had been living his life in his place. Tied down like this, weak, dehydrated, and malnourished – Katsuki was helpless.

While wearing his face, she’d cursed out the heroes and sworn off becoming a hero. He’d seen the video, Shigaraki had put on the news one day to show him. Someone must realize that wasn’t him, though. Eijiro, or at the very least, Deku.

Katsuki had barely recognized his face anymore when he saw it on the news. He hadn’t seen his reflection since they’d taken him, and it looked distorted on Toga, but maybe that was just his mind playing tricks on him. He hadn’t heard his name in ages yet, they were probably trying to make him forget himself, but he wasn’t going to give up. He refused to give them that satisfaction.

He clung to everything he could remember. Playing heroes with Izuku by the river when they were kids. Letting his idiotic friends drag him around on all their stupid adventures – the arcade, the roller skating rink, even the opera once, though they didn’t last long before being kicked out. Kissing Eijiro back like his life depended on it in the showers after the Sports Festival. Touching Eijiro and letting Eijiro touch him in unimaginable ways in that honeymoon suite. Caring about people in ways he hadn’t thought he was capable of.

“Hi, puppy,” Toga said quietly, entering the room wearing his skin. He wasn’t her fucking puppy. She kissed him on the forehead, and all he could do was growl from behind his muzzle. She took her blood drawing supplies out from a nearby drawer and let her body melt back into her form. Katsuki let out a breath of relief before he could stop himself, because if she was Toga, then he was still Katsuki.

She pressed the needle against his vein, struggling more than usual to get it in despite the IV of fluids pressed into his other vein. Katsuki was running out of blood, his body couldn’t keep making it fast enough to keep up with Toga’s consumption. He knew he wouldn’t survive long at this rate.

“I have good news, our parents are sending us to school in America,” she said once she had finally gotten her needle in right. “I leave tomorrow, and you die tragically in a plane crash on the way there.” Katsuki’s heart stopped in his chest, and Toga frowned mockingly at him. “It’s okay, puppy. This will all be over soon. I know they played rough with you.” Katsuki winced, he didn’t like to think about how Dabi and Shigaraki “played” with him.

Maybe him dying was for the best. He was too weak to escape, anyway, and even if he did, he would never be mentally well enough to be a hero after everything they’d done to him. It wasn’t like there was anyone to miss him, anyway. Maybe if Deku became the number one hero, Katsuki’s death could mean something. If Katsuki died, Deku would never stop going after the League of Villains. Maybe this was how Katsuki became a hero. If he couldn’t have a hero’s life, he might as well have a hero’s death.
